Wrestling the Blob

Description

Ezra Johnson explores the possibilities of painting through animation. Johnson does not use the painting to produce animations, painting is his primary focus, and the animation is a tool for experimenting with painting and its tradition. He uses a lavteknologisk process in which he paints continuously over the same surface to create each image, which eventually becomes a digital animation. In Wrestling the Blob Beast, we see his glove with the painting and its limitations, illustrated by animating their own arms and hands that are fighting with the different colors and shapes.
